Professional Development System
Vicksburg Community Schools has a comprehensive Professional Development Program designed to increase professional competence and confidence in ways that build student success. Vicksburg Professional Development opportunities include four processes and products:
- Training to increase knowledge
- Coaching to increase skill
- Feedback to increase confidence
- Reflection to increase competence
Districts from throughout Southwestern Michigan have chosen to send their teachers to Vicksburg's core Professional Development classes for intensive training in application of best instructional practice. These outstanding courses, taught by nationally known presenters are:

- Advanced Instructional Skills

Vicksburg also offers a wide menu of Choice Professional Development mini-courses, which are offered in the summer and throughout the school year. These sessions, described below, are also available to teachers from other districts.
