Main Street Revue
The Vicksburg Community Association celebrates its 25th annual Main Street Revue as the cast makes a much needed stop at the psychologist’s office to find the “Doctor is IN.” While still becoming like ‘family,’ working so closely together in small town theatre for 25 years has presented some interesting emotional maladies with which they must deal. And as everyone knows…you can pick your friends, but not your family. The hilarious result of their interactions and ‘cures’ and the ‘Entertainment therapy’ prescribed by the psychologist will make your visit to the Performing Arts Center more than worthwhile. Friday and Saturday, October 10 & 11, 2014 - 8pm.

Into the Woods, Jr.
The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale in INTO THE WOOD JR., an adaptation of one of Sondheim’s most popular works. All of your favorite characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch—meet and interact in this whimsical original story. The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever. Thursday, October 30 and Saturday, November 1, 2014 - 7:30pm. Sunday, November 2, 2014 - 2:00pm.
A Midsummer Night's Dream
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” William Shakespeare's most popular comedy portrays the adventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur actors, their interactions with woodland fairies and a duke and duchess. Taking place in a mythical Athens and an enchanted forest, there is a handsome fairy king, a misguided parent, star-crossed lovers, a weaver who's transformed into a half-donkey, wood sprites and elves. This work is widely performed around the world, and no wonder - it's about the world's most popular pastime, falling in love. But as Puck knows, falling in love can make fools of us all. Friday & Saturday - November 21 & 22, 2014 - 7:30pm. Sunday, November 23, 2014 - 2pm.

About the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center
Located at 501 East Highway Street, the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center opened its doors in 1994 to support arts-in-education programs, offering many programs designed to inspire young people through the arts, enhancing their studies and enriching their lives well into the future.
The Performing Arts Center soon became one of Southwest Michigan's premier entertainment venues and the artistic home to South Kalamazoo County's performing arts organizations: Vicksburg Rotary Club, The Vicksburg Community Association and the South County Players.
The Vicksburg Performing Art Center features a large modern stage with handicap access, orchestra pit, grand piano, make-up room, green room, wardrobe and dressing rooms and a convenient cargo loading area. Equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, rigging, and electrical supply systems, the venue has been host to a wide array of entertainers from television and film stars John Astin, Dick Van Patten and Frank Gorshin to the world-renown Glenn Miller Orchestra. The Gilmore Keyboard Festival and WMU Children's Dance Theater routinely use our stage.
In addition to performance space, the Performing Arts Center Staff and volunteers offer support in technical theater to lessees, plus advice to community organizations interested in producing event such as concerts, theater performances, workshop services, recitals, corporate meeting and speakers.
The Performing Arts Center has 1011 fixed seats and 16 wheel chair spaces for total seating of 1027.
Volunteers give the valuable gift of their time and we welcome and appreciate all who contribute in this important way. From ushers to ticket office assistants, the volunteers are an integral part of the operation of the Performing Arts Center. Volunteering not only enhances PAC activities but also creates rewarding opportunities for social contact in an exciting atmosphere.
