Welcome
Dear Sunset Parents,
2013 is passing quickly, filled with the many events with which we are involved. It is quite difficult to fit everything in...especially school work. Even so, please set aside time each day for reading and practicing math facts.
BK, K and first graders should work at becoming proficient with addition facts. Second graders should be proficient with both addition and subtraction facts. Third graders should be very proficient with addition and subtraction and should be working on multiplication. Fourth graders should be proficient with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and begin mastering division. Fifth grade should be proficient with all four operations.
If your child is not at the appropriate level for their grade, please practice every night for 10-15 minutes. Together we can make a difference in your child's academic success.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Moreno, Principal

Early Release/Late Start Information
Dear Parents,
This year we have scheduled five Late Start/Early Release Days with an important difference; the times have been flipped between Elementary and Secondary. On those days secondary students will start later than normal, and elementary will dismiss earlier than usual. Teaching staff will spend the time analyzing student achievement data, determining next steps to make a difference, curriculum development, and other related school improvement work.
